“Staying healthy and keeping up on the treatment of your chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, lung, and heart disease, particularly during a pandemic like this is extremely important. This is likely to be an ongoing issue for at least the next several months and we don’t want patients neglecting their health. The care and management of these chronic medical conditions, which may make some more susceptible to worsening outcomes from COVID-19, is vitally important.” -- Dr. Lovy

Telemedicine allows you to schedule a visit and meet with your provider from the comfort and safety of your home. Your insurance should cover a telehealth visit, but it’s always best to double-check, as each plan is different.
How does telemedicine work? During your pre-scheduled appointment time, you and your practitioner will discuss your symptoms and work out a plan that may involve medications or diagnostics. Such visits can include annual wellness exams, physicals, treatment of chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, COPD, cardiac disease, and chronic pain. Behavioral health conditions, such as anxiety and depression, can also be addressed. In short, this is the same as an office visit.
If lab work, x-rays, ultrasound, or other diagnostics are necessary, we will schedule a time for you to come to the office. Upon arrival, you will be taken directly to an exam room, thereby minimizing exposure to others.
At SVIM, we believe that during this pandemic, it is imperative to maintain treatment, particularly if you have chronic medical conditions. As your providers, we remain committed to you and your families and know that together, we can get through these difficult times.
